What is Ovomet®?
Inside an eggshell sits a thin membrane. This naturally occurring layer contains a combination of structural proteins and other compounds.

The ingredient supplies a naturally occurring mixture that researchers have investigated for joint-related outcomes. Research examines the whole membrane complex; its effects cannot be explained simply by counting grams of collagen.
Vitamin C: a role in collagen formation
Your body makes its own collagen. Vitamin C supports that process, contributing to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage. It complements the egg membrane ingredient in the formula.
What has research explored?
Ovomet® has been investigated in human studies looking at joint discomfort, stiffness and physical function.
A closer look at an early study
A 50-day pilot study enrolled 30 people with knee or hip osteoarthritis and used 300 mg of Ovomet® daily. Participants reported improvements in pain, stiffness and function over the study period.
The study did not include a placebo control, so it cannot establish how much of the improvement was caused by the ingredient. It studied Ovomet®, not the finished Fiteg² formula.

Why the amount of collagen is not the whole story
Different supplement ingredients have different compositions. A dose of eggshell membrane and a dose of isolated collagen peptides are not interchangeable.
When comparing products, look at the named ingredient, the amount studied, the research design and the daily serving—not just the largest number on the pack.
The 500 mg in Pure Collagen refers to egg membrane powder, not 500 mg of isolated collagen. A larger dose than one used in a study does not automatically mean a larger benefit.

Is Ovomet® the same as egg white protein?
No. Ovomet® comes from the eggshell membrane. Egg white protein comes from the white of the egg. They are different ingredients with different compositions and uses.
Is Pure Collagen suitable for vegetarians?
It is suitable for ovo-vegetarians who include eggs in their diet. It is not vegan and is not suitable for people with an egg allergy.
Does it contain dairy or gluten?
Fiteg² Pure Collagen is free from milk, including lactose, and gluten.
How soon will I notice a difference?
There is no guaranteed timeline. Study findings describe groups under particular conditions and do not predict an individual response.
Who should not take it?
